German Champion - Dt.Ch.

Award of challenge certificates:
Only possible in the following classes: open, intermediate, champion and working – separated according to male and female dogs –minimum age 15 months - the award is at the discretion of the breed judge. A reserve challenge certificate can be awarded to the second-best male dog/female dog in a class. The reserve challenge certificate can be changed into a full challenge certificate if the dog awarded the full challenge certificate already holds the title of "German Champion (VDH) on the day of the breed show. There is no right to legal claim to a challenge certificate respectively the award of a title.


Title:
The title "German Champion (VDH)" is awarded to pure-bred dogs, which have been nominated for five challenge certificates for the title of "German Champion (VDH)": at least three of these challenge certificates have to be achieved at International or National breed shows. Furthermore the five challenge certificates must have been awarded by at least three different breed judges. The challenge certificates of the VDH Bundessieger Dog Show and at the VDH Europasieger Dog Show (as well as uniquely at the VDH World Dog Show 2006) count double. In addition reserve challenge certificates gained there will be rated as individual normal challenge certificates, even when these have not been changed into a normal challenge certificate - if the dog that awarded the normal challenge certificate already holds the title of "German Champion (VDH) on the day of the breed show. There has to be a minimum period of 12 months between the first and last challenge certificate. The title "German Champion (VDH)" can only be awarded to a dog on one occasion. The title "German Champion (VDH)" entitles the dog to start in the champions class at all breed shows at home and abroad.


Transitional regulation:
For all dogs that achieved at least one challenge certificate before 1st September 2004 the previous conditions are valid (four challenge certificates, at least two of the challenge certificates at International or National breed shows). In this case, the challenge certificates that were achieved on VDH-Bundessieger-Zuchtschau or VDH-Europasieger-Zuchtschau before 1st September 2004 would possibly count single and the reserve challenge certificate not at all.


Award of the title "German Champion (VDH)":
The person entitled to make the application is the owner of the dog. If the dog changes the ownership during the period awarding the challenge certificates, the challenge certificates obtained will remain with the dog and pass over to the new owner.

German Junior Champion - Dt.JCh.

The award of challenge certificates:
In the youth class at International and National breed shows; awards will only be given to the male and female dogs that achieve the highest possible form rating– minimum age 9 months. The award of the title is at the discretion of the breed judge. Reserve challenge certificates can be awarded to the second best male and female dog with the highest possible form rating. The reserve challenge certificates can be changed into a full challenge certificate if, on the day of the breed show, the challenge certificate dog already holds the title of "German Youth Champion(VDH)". There is no entitlement to a legal claim for challenge certificates respectively the award of the title.


Title:
The title of "German Youth Champion (VDH)" will be given to pedigree dogs, if these have been nominated for at least three challenge certificates for the title of "German Youth Champion (VDH)", by at least two different breed judges and without chronological restrictions.


The award of the title "German Youth Champion (VDH)":
The owner of the dog is the person entitled to make the application. Should there be a change in ownership during the period awarding the challenge certificates, the challenge certificates obtained will remain with the dog and pass over to the new owner.

German Veteran Champion - Dt.VCh.

The award of challenge certificates:
In the veterans class at International and National breed shows; awards will only be given to the male and female dogs that achieve the first place – minimum age 8 years. The award of the title is at the discretion of the breed judge. Reserve challenge certificates can be awarded to the second best male and female dog. The reserve challenge certificates can be changed into a full challenge certificate if, on the day of the breed show, the dog which awarded the challenge certificate already holds the title of "German Veteran Champion(VDH)". There is no entitlement to a legal claim for candidature respectively the award of the title.


Title:
The title of "German Veteran Champion (VDH)" will be given to pedigree dogs, if these have been nominated for at least three challenge certificates for the title of "German Veteran Champion", by at least two different breeds judges and without chronological restrictions.


The award of the title of "German Veteran Champion (VDH)":
The owner of the dog is the person entitled to make the application. Should there be a change in ownership during the period awarding the challenge certificates, the challenge certificates obtained will remain with the dog and pass over to the new owner.
